Taylor-Swift
Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who has achieved great success with the tales that she shares about her childhood heartbreak. Swift's passion for music was evident at an early stage. From children's plays to singing in front of thousands of people, Swift made rapid progress. In 2011, Swift, at the age of 11, performed The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. In the year following, she began to write songs of her own. She drew inspiration from the popular country artists like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original music that was a reflection of her experience of tween alienation. Swift's parents moved her from Pennsylvania to Tennessee when she was thirteen after they sold their Pennsylvania farm. The move gave Swift to devote more time trying to find labels that would promote the country genre in Nashville.
